In this article I’m going to show you how to forward a domain name to any other website or web page of your choice in GoDaddy in 5 easy steps.
In Part 3 of How to set up a blog I showed you to how to connect your domain name to your web space by using something called name servers. For this particular process you do not actually need any web space. Why? Forwarding is the process of directing your domain name to another website of your choice, therefore web space is not required.
How To Forward A Domain – Step 1
Log in to your GoDaddy account
Once logged in, click on the ‘My Account’ button at the top.

Scroll down and click on the ‘Domains’ link under the ‘Products’ tab.

This will open up all your list of domain names. Choose the domain name of your choice. In this example I’m going to use a domain that I purchased called extraordinarylives.tv by clicking on the corresponding ‘launch’ button.

This will then take you to the ‘Domain Details’ page. This is where you have complete control over everything that goes on with your domain name. However to forward your domain, you only need to focus on one important tab. That is the ‘Forward’ tab. Hover over this tab and a drop down will appear. Click on the ‘Forward Domain’ link
How To Forward A Domain – Step 5
A pop up window will appear. You now have an area to paste in the actual web address of the website where you would like your domain name to be forwarded. In this example I’m going to paste in my affiliate link for Empower Network, a company that offers large commissions to promote internet marketing products.
When you paste your web address into the form field do not include the http:// section as that is already provided for you on the left as you can see in the image below.
Now just click on the ‘OK’ button and that is it. This may take a while for it to go through. Sometimes it takes a few minutes, hours or even up to a day.
So now when visitors type in your domain name it will automatically forward to the website of your choice. The advantage of this is that you can send your visitors to an affiliate offer or anything else that you are promoting online.
