My name is Wasim and I am the creator of wasims.com a blog dedicated to openly documenting my journey of thoughts, feelings and discoveries towards finding my real passion. I believe that alot of people like myself, and maybe you too, have not yet discovered our tru passion or atleast our true potential. However if you go to bed every night looking forward to the nex day because your so excited to get to work then you’ve probably found your passion. If you have I would love to hear your story. If not then you may be doing things because you have convinced yourself that there’s no other way.

A Few Things You Might Want To Know About Me

• I’m just an ordinary family guy fascinated by extraordinary things.
• I love people who have gained the maturity to have a positive outlook in life.
• I think change should be looked upon as a good thing.
• I have not been bored for years. I always say, “if you have time to be bored you have time to learn something new.” 
• I always wanted to sing one of my favourite songs in a recording studio so I did it. You can listen to it on my Youtube channel. It is a cover version of Bill Whithers, ‘Lean On Me.’ 
• I’m not interested in hype without results. I’ve seen too much of it thank you very much. If you have something to say and offer it had better be for real !!
• I do not tolerate ‘power mad’ people.
• I’ve heard the phrase, ‘Action speaks louder than words’ and I agree but I think results speak even louder than actions.

I joined social networking sites like Facebook and Youtube nearly as long ago as their launch dates and began to experiment with blogging platforms while studying. They were useful in helping me through my studies at Buckinghamshire New University, UK. I became quite fascinated by being able to go online and get advice from complete strangers on forums and video sites. I began to read up a little on Social Media while studying back in 2005 and had already decided that I would use my new skills for my own personal projects but through social media platforms.

The following three companies have made the process of setting up my blog, not only possible, but quite easy.

When I was looking for a complete web hosting solution I also wanted the process of setting my own blog to be easy and uk2 had all the requirements. 

uk2 has yearly costs which are very affordable. 

Wordpress.org have without a doubt dominated the world of blogging for many years so it was an obvious choice for me when it came to choosing an established platform for blogging. WordPress is open source which means that developers are able to create their own programs to run alongside Wordpress features. I am not a programmer and have not create any programs but I havebeen able to take advantage of the many free plug-ins created by Wordpress developers. I was also able to experimenting with quite a few free ready made Wordpress themes before deciding on a premium theme. 

The Wordpress platform is completely free. 

Thesis is the Wordpress theme I chose for my blog as it is easy to customise. Taking in to consideration that I am not a programmer or seasoned web designer I wasstill able to customise it to my own requirements to what it is now using all the available tools. There is also a helpful collection of tools that come with this theme. e.g. I am able to change this blog from the 3 collumn, that it is now, to a 2 or 1 collumn in just a few clicks. I am able to create my own link colours as well as the little things that make a blog look professional like hover over colours with themes that run throughout the entire blog. I have chosen to use mostly black and orange. 

The Thesis Wordpress Premium theme has a one off cost with no further subscription charges plus it comes with a lifetime support forum full of advice, tips and tricks on customisation from other users. 

Favicon.co.uk  is the handy little icon that appears on your website visitors browser when they visit your website. I’d like to say a quick thank you to these guys for creating this. Try it. Its free and the process is short and simple. Just go and get one !
